Are health informatics conferences like buses?

Following my post earlier today about two forthcoming health informatics conferences, this afternoon has brought information about two more. These events seem to be getting like buses - and all come along at once.

BCS Health Scotland Conference 2010 will be held on 22nd and 23rd September in Glasgow and the Southern Institute for Health Informatics 2010 Conference: Digital Wellbeing will be in Portsmouth on 24 September.

Does this profusion of events reflect increased interest (at least amongst organisers) or a perceived likely growth in the market following changes to the National Programme for IT? Some of them are well established and successful events others are newer (at least to me) and their establishment may indicate something - but I'm not sure yet what that might be.
